Keto Diet

What Keto has done for me!

We all know the aches and pains fibromyalgia causes us on a daily basis. We also are told over-and-over that diet and exercise are key in coping with chronic pain along with chronic fatigue syndrome. I am here to tell you…it’s all true!

Just last year I found myself in bed more than I was out of it. My sleeping patterns were all messed up! When my kids knew where to find me to even have a conversation, I realized I needed to make a major change and boy am I glad I did!

I did research and found this website to me very helpful in starting the Keto diet. I am able to find recipes, find out what foods to eat or not eat, and it really changed my thought process. I had a hard time at first changing from no-fat, low-fat concept to high-fat being the key for your body to actually want to burn fat versus storing it. But over time it has become my go-to website to find the answers I need. I recently went out to dinner at my 10- year old’s favorite restaurant 🦞 Lobster.

I thought for sure I was going to be limited to my choices. Nope, I could order exactly what I aways get. At that moment I knew I could stick with this diet difference in thinking that all food was bad unless it was green. I am even more aware of what I am putting in my body and how I know making bad choices has consequences.

I have way more energy and I am up to 3-mile power walks…I say power walk because even my kids say I walk too fast. My teacup Schnauzer always accompanies me and never complains…okay he literally faked a leg injury one time so I would carry him, other than that he is a trooper lol.

TIP: Purchase wireless ear buds. I got sent a free pair to try out and I love them! They sync to my Apple Watch so I am able change music on the go. My other tip is find upbeat music and use it to keep your pace up. TIP 2: Get a workout app that tracks progress, heart rate, distance, and it will keep you focused and moving.
